Latest EP Available!

“This is a throw back album to the 1970’s and how that music impacted my life.”

After almost two years, I’ve finally completed my latest EP entitled “70’s Celebration!” This is a throw back album to the 1970’s and how that music impacted my life. Many of the folk songs back then became the launching pad for what we know today as Praise and Worship music. I loved these new Folk Songs and I wanted to learn to play them on a guitar. So I got a guitar and a Mel Bay chord book back in 1972 and taught myself how to play the acoustic guitar! Then I got a songbook titled “Sing ‘n’ Celebrate”, and eventually got good enough to play with the youth group at my church. That started my lifelong dream of playing music for the Lord, and it has been a great experience!

This EP has 4 Folk Songs and 1 Original bonus song written by friend and former bandmate Don Hightower. The songs I chose were ones I first learned to play: Psalm 19, Pass It On, I wish we’d all been ready, That’s for me. The bonus song is named His Everlasting Love. You can learn all about and hear an excerpt from each song by just clicking this link! I also have a link on that page to donate to our ministry and get a copy of the EP.

I needed to have some help on one of the songs. I was able to get my sister-in-law Robin Wills, to lend her voice on; “Pass It On”, written by Kurt Kaiser. You can listen to her version of this song by clicking this link! I would ask that you support her by donating to her ministry. All the funds will be given directly to her from that link.

I hope you all will enjoy this latest work I’ve created. I have enjoyed and have been blessed for doing it. I don’t know what the next project is or when it will start, but I do know that whatever it will be, I’ll share it with you all first!

New Music Published!

After I had started this project, it became evident that the direction for the album was going to go in a new way. I Love To Tell The Story became something even more special to me… I hope our journey together through this music will accomplish the goal most important to Christians, and that is to worship almighty God..

When I first started this project, it was with the hope that I could share my heart and love for Christ with people through my music forum. As time went on and we had many different delays, it became evident that the direction for the album was going to go in a new way. I Love To Tell The Story became something even more special to me. Although I’m still sharing my heart for Christ with you, it has turned more into a personal worship experience for me, and not just from singing the songs. Instead, during the creation of the songs, my mind was trained on glorifying Christ and worshiping Him and who He is in my life. That meant every aspect through creating, recording, editing, mixing and compiling all the songs, the artwork and how I was going to share it needed to point towards worshiping Him.

Along the way, I was struggling with one of the songs: “The Old Rugged Cross”. I couldn’t understand why such a simple song with such a powerful message, was giving me production fits!? So I stopped, prayed, studied and pondered and came to realize that it needed to be slowed waaay down so that each verse, chorus and the bridge would allow reflection. In the book of Psalms, the word for that is “Selah”. It also can mean “An Instrumental” which I added too! THINK about what the story is that is being told! I believe that was the whole point of my album.

So I hope our journey together through this music will accomplish the goal most important to Christians, and that is to worship almighty God and with every lyric, note and tone, lift up Him and Him alone with the praise that He deserves. I look forward to worshiping the Lord together through this music!

The Old Rugged Cross

A few years ago, we started this latest EP for those who like our music. This latest compilation is made up mostly of “Hymns From My Youth” and is entitled “I Love To Tell The Story”. I have been publishing the songs as I have them completed here on my website, but I will have a final edited and mastered CD / EP printed when I am done with all the songs. I decided to add a song that Don Hightower – a friend of mine – and I wrote a few years back titled “His Everlasting Love”. It’s a fun song that gets your motor goin’! I’ll save that for last.

But for now, I have added the song “The Old Rugged Cross” written by George Bennard in 1912 and published the next year. There is a great deal of information on the backstory of this song on the music page of this site. I added a little guitar interlude and created a bridge that goes well with the song.  I hope you will like this version..

Updated Version to be published soon!
